Overcast has continually put me onto non mainstream artist every time I click their Youtube channel. The first review on them I covered the rising pop-punk star “Brakence” which makes everything come around full circle in this one. Now I cover the 15 year old star Glaive from North Carolina who teamed up with both Brakence & Overcast on his track “Touché”. After seeing this super team tag up I couldn’t wait to dive into the song & visual as these three know how to create something special.
The track is produced by Brakence & accompanied by Glaive‘s remarkable vocals & deep cutting lyrics. Glaive’s delivery in his vocals are what wow & blows me away in each of his tracks. The hook can play on a loop for hours on end with it touching on the inner self talk of the opinions that surround us all externally. It catches you with a heavy hitting beat while the lyrics write; “& I’m an asshole, two face, I been steady tripping over my own shoelace & every single problem in my head goes two ways, that boy got a cover up girlfriend, touché.” Shows exactly how thoughtful of a writer Glaive truly is. It’s a contradicting line that hits you right in the face while he shows his true emotion. The song itself is stellar, Overcast as they always do created a masterpiece of madness I would say with their visual to it. Multiple trippy effects scatter throughout the visual completely comfort the vibe of the track as a whole. Overcast has created a solid foundation of a music video company that I put them right up there with Lyrical Lemonade.
It’s safe to say this super three of creatives have a bright future ahead of them. We know exactly what to expect from these three going forward; creative writing, awesome musical production, & visuals that truly fit the aesthetics of the tracks they represent. Going forward we will be on the lookout of any new content from Glaive, Brakence, & Overcast.
