It seems as though this “Eucalyptus” is actually about a year old. This does not change the fact that I am a huge fan of both the song and the video. The song itself features an experimental/electronic vibe throughout that is unprecedented. The music is somber yet edgy and complimented to no end by some well-received vocals. The vocals are chopped up making for some serious depth to the song and I gotta say I legit can’t get enough of the vibes the record puts out.
The video was filmed on Sproat Lake, BC at a cabin built by Ryder’s great grandfather in the ’40s. The video takes the viewer on a dark journey which provides a plethora of scenic shots making for some very unique and interesting visuals.
This is the first impression of both artists I have ever had but I’m sure it won’t be my last. I’ll be on the lookout for more music from both La+ch and Ryder Havdale but for now, I’ll be dissecting and enjoying “Eucalyptus” the rest of the month!
